Kevin Hart has made good on his words—at the end of his Singapore debut, he said—no, promised—that it wouldn’t be his last show. Indeed, the prolific comedian will be back for “The Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour” at Suntec Convention Hall Centre 601-604 on Dec 13.
His last international comedy tour, “What Now”, which is also now available on Netflix, sold out numerous large-scale venues everywhere. He also became the first comedian to perform to a full house at an NFL stadium, selling more than 50,000 tickets at Lincoln Financial Field in the U.S., and grossed over $100 million worldwide. His memoir,I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons also topped the New York Times Bestseller list, selling more than 100,000 copies in just the first five weeks. However, it wasn’t always so smooth sailing for the Jumanji remake star.
Before becoming stand-up comedian, he was cutting his teeth as a shoe salesman in Brockton, Massachusetts. He scored his first gig under the moniker Lil Kev, and was subsequently booed off stage numerous times. But after finding his own brand of humor, where he dives into his insecurities and life experiences for material, he slowly gained traction and a loving fanbase to get to where he’s at right now.
He’s since founded the digital platform LOL Network – Laugh Out Loud—a comedy and multi-platform network—in partnership with Lionsgate. His next big gig is a feature film he co-wrote, produces and stars in called Night School, which follows a bunch of misfits who go through adult classes to help them pass the General Equivalency Development/Diploma (GED) test in the States.
Tickets are priced from $98-198 via LiveNation (pre-sale for existing LiveNation members will take place on Jun 20, 10am-11:59pm, while general sales begin Jun 21, 10am).
