It’s time to mark your 2019 calendar: Troye Sivan will make his Singapore concert debut May 3, 2019 at The Star Theatre. The Bloom headline Asia tour follows the release of his similarly titled sophomore album, and marks his first solo concert here, after brief appearances in Singapore for meet-and-greets.
Only 23 years old, it’s hard to wrap your head around just how accomplished Australian pop star Troye Sivan is. Before he was cranking out hit singles and stealing the hearts of young boys and girls everywhere, the South African-born singer was a viral YouTube personality. He chalked up over 27,000 subscribers in his first five years (which, back in 2007 is a pretty impressive statistic), and even won a Teen Choice Award for one of his vlogs. In 2009, he made his acting debut as a young Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
But of course, these days, most know him for his infectious electronic dance-pop. With the release of his debut studio album Blue Neighbourhood in 2015, Sivan shot into mainstream popularity; his singles “Youth” and “Wild” gracing the Billboard Top Ten. More recently, he’s pushed out instant faves from Bloom, like “My My My!”, “1999”, and “Dance to This” featuring bestie Ariana Grande (FYI, Sivan also had a cameo in Grande’s recent cinematic masterpiece thank u, next, which you should do yourself a favour and watch). Music endeavors aside, he’s also become quite the LGBT icon for his openness about his sexuality, and frequent portrayal of LGBTQ relationships in his music videos.
Presale tickets go live Dec 10 at 10am on the Troye Sivan app here; and you can bet his legions of tween fans will be waiting with fingers poised. Otherwise, general sales starts Dec 11 here.
