Reopened Raffles Hotel Singapore celebrates with a festival this October

Expect an entire shebang to go down at Raffles Hotel Singapore on Oct 18, as the newly-restored property celebrates its return with The Raffles Reopening Festival. For just one special evening, festival-goers will be treated to lavish gourmet experiences while being entertained by famed local performers.

First, get to taste signature offerings by the various restaurants located within the hotel’s premises. There’ll be three-Michelin star chef Anne-Sophie Pic’s signature Berlingots; Tartare di Tonno Al Limone from BBR by Alain Ducasse; North Indian flavours by Indian restaurant Tiffin Room as well as sweets courtesy of The Grand Lobby, just to name a few. Plus, sip on specially curated bespoke cocktails all through the night, thanks to the hotel’s award-winning bartenders. And if you were wondering, yes, the newly-opened Burger & Lobster at Raffles Arcade will also join in the festivities, with a presentation of their signature creations.

Be dazzled by local crooners Kit Chan and Inch Chua, who will both be dishing out tunes alongside jazz singer Rani Singam and her world-class quartet, as well as Anderson and Roe Piano Duo. It also appears as if the temporarily-disbanded musical group The Sam Willows are reuniting, as they’re slated to perform that night.

For laughs, catch a stand-up performance by local comedian Hossan Leong, fresh off his final stand-up show, Hossan-AH 50! Love you Leong Time! and enjoy a storytelling session by The Storytelling Centre Limited. Dance crew Ekta Singapore will also be putting on what we believe will be one hell of an act, as they debuted last year at the quirky, alternative event Burning Man in the US.

Tickets to the festival are tagged at a hefty $300, but we feel the gastronomic experiences and exciting entertainment line-up do warrant it; you’ll get to try and enjoy everything in one entire evening after all. And if it’ll help you sleep at night, just know that full proceeds from the ticket sales will go to non-profit organisation Community Chest Singapore.
