It’s the return of the Sentosa Sandsation this Aug 31-Sep 15, the annual beachfront festival at Sentosa dedicated to larger-than-life sand sculptures.
While last year saw our favourite Marvel superheroes assemble at Siloso Beach, the lightsaber-wielding Jedis from Star Wars (another Disney franchise) are striking back this year with a very special edition featuring 20 Star Wars-themed sand sculptures.
See sand artists bring characters like Yoda, Rey and Darth Vader to life, alongside the non-force sensitive Chewbacca and Boba Fett, among others. Meanwhile, a Jabba the Hutt sculpture will be progressively built throughout the festival, cause the thug boss deserves special treatment, and so you can see how the artist does it from scratch.
You can learn from the masters too (the artists, not the Jedis), and awaken your inner sand sculpting talents at workshops happening throughout the event. There’ll be free movie screenings at Palawan Green on select evenings as well, so bring along a picnic mat and your Padawan, and enjoy the experience from a galaxy far, far away.
Sentosa Sandsation: Star Wars Edition happens Aug 31-Sep 15, 10am-8.30pm daily. Admission to the festival is free, and Singapore residents get free entry into Sentosa during event period.
