Shilin Singapore night market will have KTV booths, arcade machines and over 300 stalls

When news came out in January that event organisers Invade will be bringing Taiwan’s famed Shilin Night Market to Singapore, everyone was excited, but unsure of what to expect. Now, only a month away to the two-weekend event held from April 19-21 and Apr 26-28, they’ve finally released the deets.

The inaugural Shilin Singapore will be massive, for one, taking over a 200,000 square feet space at The Grounds@Kranji within the Singapore Turf Club. There’ll be over 300 merchants peddling their wares, ranging from Taiwanese and Singaporean food and beverage stalls, artisanal product retailers and more.

For food and drink, the likes of Hot Star will be offering a new mala flavoured chicken chop, Chia Te Bakery will be bringing their famed pineapple tarts to Singapore, and of course, lots of bubble tea brands will be upping their game and offering unique creations not available anywhere else. For something alcoholic, head over to Jim Beam’s pop-up bar for highballs in various flavours.

Those in the mood to shop can look forward to Taiwanese brands like Penguin Hand and Mood setting up kiosks there, alongside local creatives like Amusse and Cocoonese retailing handmade pouches and bags made from eco-friendly materials.

To keep you entertained all evening, 60 arcade game machines including life-sized human claw machines, as well as eight KTV booths will be available—so be prepared to play and sing your heart out. And for something more passively fun (other than Insta-worthy decor), movie screenings and live band performances will also be happening throughout the nights.

Can this possibly rival Taiwan’s OG market? We’ll be there to find out.

Shilin Singapore takes place April 19-21 and Apr 26-28 from 3pm-11pm at The Grounds@Kranji.
