Who says Singapore is boring? You can now add the Singapore Discovery Centre to your to-do list for the holidays. The centre has reopened its doors just in time for the public to enjoy a unique and meaningful “getaway” this year-end.
But don’t expect static galleries and boring showcases. Check out the new Permanent Exhibits Gallery that promises to be an unforgettable experience for all visitors. At the Through the Lens of Time exhibit, discover key moments in Singapore’s history which are brought to life using immersive technologies.
Get new perspectives on World War II, Konfrontasi and the 1983 Cable Car Tragedy, among others, with augmented reality, panoramic projection screens and even holograms. You’ll need to download the mySDC app if you want the full experience. Create your own time travelling avatar and explore historic events through “magical portals” and augmented reality games while experiencing first-hand what it would have been like to be there. This interactive experiential gallery opens from Nov 14 so book your tickets to here.
For some real action, there are two new exciting attractions—escape room and laser tag. At the Black Lake Laser Battlefield, fight aliens and zombies in interactive changeable combat simulations with the HELIOS2 laser tag system. Then head to the Black Lake Facility, the largest multi-storey escape room attraction in Singapore, covering 13 rooms across four themed chapters intertwined in one story. It utilises smart technology such as motion sensors, touch sensors and UV lighting in its puzzle pieces to give you an out-of-the-world escape room experience.
