Pangdemonium spotlights mental health issues in its first show of 2020

Stepping into their 10th year is Pangdemonium with The Son, a brand new show written by Florian Zeller, the same playwright behind The Father, which the theatre company had staged in 2018 to much success.

While the similarity in show titles may lead one to wonder if the plays are related, the fresh drama is actually more of a spiritual companion piece to Pangdemonium’s highly-acclaimed 2019 production Late Company, if anything.

From Feb 20-Mar 7, seize the opportunity to watch The Son touch on heavy issues, as a story about an increasingly erratic teenager shuttling between his divorced parents unfolds. With little help nor solutions provided by the adults in 16-year-old Nicolas’ life, his mental state takes a turn for the worse.

A timely and important exploration about mental health issues, the play also delves into the struggles of families dealing with a loved one facing mental troubles.

Directed by Tracie Pang, The Son will star Shona Benson, Serene Chan, Nazray, Zachary Pang and of course, Adrian Pang himself.

The Son runs from Feb 20-Mar 7; tickets and more information available here.
