There is no shortage of online music festivals these days, but Splendour XR isn’t exactly your typical virtual music festival. Conceived by the team behind annual Aussie music and arts fiesta Splendour in the Grass, this year’s concept has gone global to unite musical fans and talents from around the world.
Happening from Jul 24-25, the two-day affair will allow festival-goers to thoroughly explore the event via its online site and XR world. Besides watching your favourite artists beam up into “space”, you can also teleport from stage to stage to catch the hottest acts around.
Virtual music stages such as the Amphitheatre and Mix Up offer multiple camera angles so guests can enjoy an immersive experience.
That includes performances by Khalid, The Killers, Charli XCX and Of Monsters and Men. Other familiar names like Vance Joy, Denzel Curry and Pink Sweat$ are among the incredible line-up too.
And just like Splendour in the Grass IRL, plenty of fringe activities will be available. Check out Little Splendour for some interactive fun, or use fully customisable avatars to meet friends from across the globe.
The festival is also doing its part to support mental wellbeing, and festival-goers can easily head to the Splendour XR live medical centre for mental health and wellbeing support.
The Splendour XR experience will be available on gaming PC, VR, web or mobile; all you have to do is choose your digital experience based on your preferred device.
