St. Patrick’s Day—the celebration of Irish culture at its finest. Although some St. Paddy’s parades have been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, other smaller-scale events are still happening to pay homage to Ireland and their foremost patron saint. Below, check out six parties happening across our island, for an excuse to party with pints of Guinness in hand.
Code Green: Scruffy’s St. Patrick’s Festival (Mar 13)
Knowing Irish cafe and pub Scruffy Murphy’s, their annual St. Patrick’s Festival won’t be anything short of entertaining and jolly. So head down to their cosy cottage at Pasir Panjang on Friday night, as you’ll find loads of Jameson Whisky and Guinness promotions, and perhaps even more.
Everybody’s Irish on Paddy’s Weekend (Mar 13-17)
This St. Paddy’s weekend, watch as everyone’s favourite Clarke Quay Irish bar McGettigan’s pulls out all the stops with a fabulous entertainment line-up. Both traditional and modern Irish bands will be dishing out tunes alongside Irish DJs, while Irish dancers get the crowd riled up with their awesome moves.
St Patrick’s: Mingle on the Move (Mar 13)
Join in a grand ol’ celebration of Irish culture at St Patrick’s Mingle on the Move, a bar-hopping event that’ll take shamrockers through selected watering holes with exclusive drink deals. The trail will end the night on a high note at 1-Altitude too; receive an event tee, free shots, St. Paddy’s-themed freebies and more when you participate.
St Patrick’s Celebration at 79 After Dark (Mar 13)
To snap up some of the best Guinness beer promos in town, head to 79 After Dark’s St. Patrick’s Celebration in a cool, green attire. And expect to be served delicious themed snacks and shots; all while DJ Uday spins his best tracks to turn Circular Road into a dance floor.
St. Patrick’s Day Live Music Backyard Barbecue (Mar 14)
On Saturday, head down to SOS Restaurant and Bar at The Sail to enjoy live music while feasting on burgers and sausage rolls for next to nothing. Irish musical trio Sult and Irish singer Kevin McCabe will be taking the stage from 3pm-6pm, so don’t miss the opportunity to catch them live. Plus, complimentary bus services will be available to take crowds to popular dive bar Hero’s, so you can continue partying at the next venue.
St. Patrick’s Day (Mar 17)
The number of fun activities to be held at The Drunken Poet come Tuesday evening will give plenty of reasons to head down to the Irish bar tucked away at dodgy Orchard Towers. Get to personalise mini Guinness pints by engraving them; pour your own pint at their PYOP counter; and for the ladies, post party pictures of yourselves dressed in green to receive a free pint of beer.
