AFA Creators Superfest (CSF) – a community-focused festival by the brains behind Anime Festival Asia, Southeast Asia’s largest anime convention – will be returning to Singapore on July 27 and 28.
In line with its community-led ethos, over 200 creators from around the region will be packed into Singapore Expo Hall 3 for the two-day event.
As you’d probably expect, the main focus of the proceedings will naturally be all things anime, with live drawing sessions led by famed guest illustrators, hands-on workshops and art competitions galore.
There’ll even be large-format artworks for sale at the AFA CSF Gallery, along with the usual slew of booths selling merch and collectibles hand-crafted and illustrated by talented creators like Matcha, Roy the Art and Houkibiboshi.
Fans of cosplay won’t be left out either, as they can look forward to their own host of activities ranging from talk shows and cosplay competitions to meet-and-greets with internationally renowned cosplayers, including Yingtze, Byoru and Xiaoyukiko.
Speaking of globetrotting talents, AFA CSF visitors will also be duly entertained with idol groups, vocalists and dance troupes from across the world, but especially Japan.
Headliners from the motherland include idol and voice actor Sally Amaki, whose credits include roles in 22/7, Tomo-chan Is A Girl and Bocchi the Rock!; Dear Kiss, a girls’ dance and vocal group that’s been wowing crowds since 2016; newcomers Happy End Story, an all-girl idol group that debuted in January this year; and Non, a renowned cosplayer best-known for her epic depictions of characters from anime and Egyptian mythology both.
New to the AFA CSF is an area dedicated to the fashionistas in the world of anime, where crafts, accessories and apparel reign supreme.
That’s not all, as the event will also feature all-new play zones for ardent hobbyists, whether they prefer to do battle with Beyblades (spinning top toys first released in Japan) or mini-4WD race cars.
AFA Creators Super Fest Singapore 2024 will take place on Jul 27 and 28 at Singapore Expo Hall 3. Tickets to AFA CSF start from $19 and can be purchased here.
