Extra·Ordinary People presents Extra·Ordinary Stars, an inaugural star-studded fundraising concert on Dec 1 at The Star Theatre to empower less privileged youths with special needs to pursue their dreams and shine.

Differently abled youths will perform alongside American magician Cyril Takayama and award-winning Taiwanese singer A-Lin as well as Singaporean talents Benjamin Kheng, Wheel Smith, violinist Zanna Phua, Adelyn Koh, John Chan, Isabelle Lim, and Daniel Teo. The concert will also feature Cantare Choir, Singapore Raffles Music College, Extra·Ordinary People’s Extra·Ordinary Light Orchestra, and others.

Extra·Ordinary Stars was conceptualised by Unleash Your Light Movement, a global movement focused on changing the world from “Me” to “We”. Through genuine human-to-human connections, it aims to transform individuals and societies, break down limitations, ignite individual potential, and empower everyone to shine.

“Individuals with special needs and their families rarely have the inspiration, space, and opportunity to achieve independent living through their dreams. We believe in the transformative power of positivity. Our mission is to create opportunities for everyone.

“With Extra·Ordinary Stars, we hope the special needs and underprivileged community will be inspired to dream and share their stories,” says Wee Boo Kuan, co-founder and director of Extra·Ordinary People, an IPC (Institution of a Public Character) charity that provides life-long support to differently abled children and youths. Upon graduating from the Extra·Ordinary People Academy, the organisation continues to provide them with opportunities and assistance towards independence.

Towards this goal, Extra·Ordinary People provides individuals and organisations with new ways to “Be a Hero to Someone”. Singapore Raffles Music College, for example, trains beneficiaries who are musically inclined. Additionally, China Mobile will offer the first 1,000 concert ticket holders a special promotion plan of 100GB for $10 per month. Unleash Your Light will also donate 500 China Mobile plans to 500 low-income families for one year.

Ticket prices start from $128 and are available at Sistic here. Proceeds will be shared between the three IPC charities: Extra·Ordinary People; Happee Hearts Movement, which advocates for the healthcare needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their caregivers; and YMCA, which provides emergency financial assistance to needy families and purposeful work training opportunities for individuals with special needs. There will be a 250 percent tax rebate with every ticket purchase.
