Don’t roll your eyes (we’re looking at you, Gen Zs). Yes, it’s about Lee Kuan Yew, but banish thoughts of stuffy displays, boring black and white photos, and static information.

Instead, LKY: The Experience is a fun, interactive, and dare we say, Insta-worthy exhibition that raises the curtain on the lesser known sides of Singapore’s founding Prime Minister on his 100th birth anniversary.

On Air

Made by Lucid Experiences, in partnership with TRCL and the Community Chest, stories have been brought out from the classroom and history books right into the 21st century, complete with interactive installations, multimedia displays, hands-on activities – and a rainbow slide.

It’s an immersive experience that re-creates his memories, milestones and motivations in a novel journey through time.

Happening from Oct 6 to Dec 31 in a three-storey building at 11 Prinsep Link, the exhibition spans over 17,000-square-feet across 20 rooms, each unlocking a chapter to pull back the curtain on Lee Kuan Yew as a child, student, husband and statesman.

The journey begins with a free showcase featuring 100 stories collected from everyday people from all walks of life on how Mr Lee’s legacy has left a mark, shaped mindsets, and influenced history in both big and small ways.

The feature also gathers the memories from people who have interacted closely with Lee Kuan Yew in some way or another. Among these are Mr Lee’s tailor, security detail, chef, and even actors featured in the movie and musical of his life – giving a glimpse into what he was like beyond work.

The next zone titled “The Beliefs” features interactive gamified themed rooms inspired by Mr Lee’s experiences, ideas, and values. Known for his focus and foresight, he held his own and deftly navigated through an ever-changing environment. See if you have what it takes by taking on the obstacle course that aims to put your agility and reflexes to the test.

Which brings us to the rainbow. Slide down the whimsical slide that represents his iconic quote “… follow that rainbow, go ride it” to inspire Singaporeans to never stop chasing their dreams and achieving their goals.
