At HyperDrive, Singapore’s first gamified electric go-kart circuit, adrenaline junkies and wannabe race car drivers will experience both real-life racing and virtual gaming around a three-level track.
Located at The Palawan @ Sentosa, its highly charged vibe across three levels will be a exciting experience for all.
Its recent opening was a perfect complement to Grand Prix Season Singapore, a series of off-track events that features 10 days of non-stop race-themed and motorsports celebrations as a preamble to the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.
In this three-level indoor circuit measuring 308m long and 5.3m wide, there are 14 hair-raising turns and thrilling straightaways to provide a thrilling driving experience for the young and young-at-heart who will have access to a fleet of 36 electric go-karts available in senior, junior, and tandem configurations with zero tailpipe emission.
At each play session, 12 karts can race at a top speed of 30km/h for novice karts and 50km/h for advanced karts (with additional requirements) for overtaking in races. There is also a 110-seater HyperDrive Cafe on the second floor where you can watch the action while chowing down on classic diner dishes such burgers and crazy sundaes at the 32-metre-long open cantilevered gallery overlooking the tracks.
In the upcoming months, HyperDrive will also offer the first Game of Karts experience in Asia, fusing virtual racing and real-life driving. Sound and lighting effects will enhance the immersive gaming experience, while drivers collect bonuses as “weapons” to sabotage their competitors, or as “boosts” to propel them to the podium.
Beyond the circuit, there is more to experience. Several steps away is UltraGolf, an 18-hole mini-golf course where everyone can test their putting skills on contoured greens; HydroDash for a physically challenging obstacle course on the water; and The Palawan Dog Run for all furry friends.
