It’s going to be a very wet and wild April – for the kids, at least – because Wild Wild Wet (WWW) at Downtown East will be presenting Singapore’s first-ever Songkran Kids Festival.
Songkran is the Thai New Year (it falls on Apr 13 but celebrations last three days) where revellers take to the streets for joyful water fights. Little ones aged 12 and below and their families can take part in the celebrations with a multitude of activities at WWW (all days except Tuesdays when the park is closed) throughout the month of April from 12pm to 6pm.
Make a splash at water gun stations where kids can gear up with water pistols and engage in playful water gun shoot-offs.
An epic 25-metre-long elephant-themed inflatable obstacle course is another highlight. Duck, slide and glide your way through to the end of this bouncy “float” – apparently it’s a lot harder than it looks.
There are also weekend dance parties and workshops; and live DJ performances and try-out sessions. Complete the festival look at the Hair Tinsel and Airbrush Tattoo stations, before heading to snap pictures with life-size gummy bears all decked out in Songkran-inspired pail hats and water guns slung across their backs.
Songkran Kids Festival takes place at Wild Wild Wet, Downtown East, from Apr 1 to 30, 2024. Tickets are available on Wild Wild Wet, from $21 for children or $29 for adults. Exclusive kids-only weekend Splash passes are available at $50.
Each festival pass includes a limited-edition elephant reusable straw and welcome drink (limited to the first 50 redemptions per day); while Splash Pass holders get an elephant hooded towel, and other Splash perks such as exclusive access to hair tinsel and airbrush tattoo stations.
