If you were bummed to hear that the Singapore Turf Club would be hosting its final race next year and ceasing operations in 2027, there is now at least one consolation: Gallop Stable @ Downtown East.

Gallop Stable, which has locations at Horsecity (Bukit Timah) and Pasir Ris, has opened its second stable at the recreational and lifestyle hub, allowing visitors to step into the world of horses through a variety of activities.

The seven horses and ponies that you’ll meet here – Princess, Sonia, Rose, Jewel, Peanut, Kofi, and Amoy – aren’t your typical horses at farm stables; these are sports horses (some are ex-polo ponies) that have retired from their heyday. These horses are sure to bring joy and smiles to visitors with their own unique and charming personalities.

Visitors can sign up for a host of activities once they arrive at the stables. They can groom and feed these gentle and loving horses; go on a horse and pony ride (children as young as three years old can go on a ride); or take a tour of the stables to learn more about horses in general. Even better, you can even host birthday parties, photoshoots and corporate events too.

The little ones can treat their new equine friends with a feed packet at $2 each, or try their hand at Horseshoe Painting ($12) or themed art and craft activities like Window Art ($6), Sand Art ($10), and Mask Painting ($10).

Just note that on days with wet weather or extreme heat, the horses may not be available to ensure their safety and comfort. They take beauty naps too, from 12pm to 2pm, so avoid these times.

Gallop Stable @ Downtown East also organises workshops for visitors where they can learn about stable management. Visitors will learn how to care for and manage horses in a stable environment. Topics will include Grooming and Maintenance, Horse Health and Nutrition, and more. These hour-long workshops are priced at $30 per person.
