National Day is less than two weeks away, and we are excited to see how Singaporeans will celebrate. Whether that’ll be spending time with family or watching the National Day Parade (NDP) on TV, it will be a day full of fun.
For an enhanced experience, download the first-ever NDP Digital Play Pack created by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The Digital Play Pack allows Singaporeans to experience a digital world during NDP and uses Augmented Reality (AR) for a more immersive celebration. Users can “dress up” and take digital photos, “visit” and “redesign” famous locations from the past, and even enjoy a digitally enhanced version of the parade from home, all while using the mobile application.
Here are three key features that you can do with IMDA’s NDP Digital Play Pack.
Creating as One
Friends and family can redesign and create re-imagined versions of their favourite iconic place in Singapore by using the “Creating as One” sticker and filter feature. You can also dress up in different uniforms representing the Singapore Armed Force (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF), or even the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) uniform while taking photos (or selfies) with August the Merlion.
Growing up as One
Have you ever wanted to visit some of Singapore’s most iconic sites? Now you can, through AR within the app. Some locations that you can visit include the old Paya Lebar Airport, Big Splash, and more.
NDP as One
On Aug 9, unlock exclusive content for the National Day Parade, which will include assets such as the SCDF’s 6th Generation Light Fire Attack Vehicle, the Republic of Singapore Navvy’s Unmanned Surface Vessel, and more NDP Total Defence Parade vehicles, all to screen in your living room from Pandang. Immersive 360-degree videos and AR fireworks will also be included.
