Heartlands Festival 2023 is back for its third edition from Dec 1, 2023 to Jan 31, 2024. Under the banner of “Celebrating the Community”, Singapore’s annual celebration of the heartlands shines a light on Singapore’s heartlands as a treasure trove of vibrant neighbourhoods that have shaped the nation’s identity.
This time, it has a new mascot called Hearty, a uniting figure and quest master who embodies the spirit of the heartlands.
The blue mascot will guide residents through the festival’s activities which will bring them into the heart and soul of Singapore, paying tribute to unsung heroes and fostering the “kampong” spirit of the community.
There are a myriad of experiences. First, step out of your comfort zone by going on the Heartlands Quest. The activity invites everyone to hone their exploration skills and navigate around Singapore to discover local businesses who have breathed life into the heartlands. Check out participating shops selling healthy bubble tea, gelato, gemstones, traditional Chinese medicine, and more.
Take on quests from now till Jan 31, 2024 by simply scanning the QR codes to unlock interactive quizzes, accumulate points and receive attractive rewards, all while indulging in a bit of shopping and interacting with business owners.
For a more challenging activity, sign up for Heartlands Odyssey featuring themed races in five vibrant neighbourhoods: Toa Payoh, Upper Boon Keng, Chong Pang, Bukit Gombak, and Serangoon North.
From Dec 2, 2023 to Jan 20, 2024, participants of all ages can team up and dive into unique neighbourhoods through clues, activities and missions. Put your teamwork, wits, speed and agility to the test as you explore historical landmarks, discover new foods, and immerse in heartwarming cultural experiences that reflect the rich essence of the community.
Heartlanders will also have a chance to win cash and attractive prizes in the Heartlands Festival Lucky Draw. Just spend a minimum spend of $10 from now till Jan 31, 2024, at participating merchants, snap a photo of your receipt or take a screenshot of your digital transaction, and submit your receipt through a form on the Heartlands Festival Lucky Draw website.
There will be weekly draws every Friday from Dec 8, 2023 to Jan 27, 2024, with prizes worth up to $400. The Grand Draw on Jan 31, 2024, will roll out cash prizes of up to $9,988 and 10 consolation winners can bag prizes worth up to $488.
Finally, take your heartland adventure to the next level with heritage trails, online companion guides and exhibitions, presented in partnership with the National Heritage Board. In addition, there are hyperlocal activities organised by Merchants’ and Hawkers’ Associations such as Christmas fairs, community bazaars and even a getai performance. Get more details here.
