The internationally renowned and anonymous Banksy is regarded as one of the most valuable and talked about artists of our time. The subversive and secretive British street artist is known for his anti-authoritarian graffiti, murals, installations and performance art which often pop up overnight on buildings and other structures.
Fans can now experience his provocative artworks upclose at the exhibition The Art of Banksy: Without Limits, thanks to exhibition production company Muse Marketing & Entertainment, event organising company Events and entertainment discovery platform Fever.
Opening at 25 Scotts Road in December (exact date to be announced), the Singapore experience will build on the incredible recent success of the exhibition’s Australian tour, delighting hundreds of thousands of visitors along the way. With tours across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the U.S., over 2.1 million people now have experienced this thought-provoking exhibition worldwide.
Custom-built to fit the unique Singapore venue spanning 1,200 square metres, The Art of Banksy: Without Limits includes several experiential areas and more than 170 of the artist’s works such as certified originals, prints, photos, lithographs, sculptures, murals, and video mapping installations specially created for this tour. The experience will allow an intimate perspective of some of Banksy’s most iconic artworks, authentically bringing the spirit of street art to the indoor exhibit.
Created specifically for the Singapore edition, the entrance of the exhibition will feature a “Walled Off Hotel” style lobby, drawing inspiration from Banksy’s 2017 boutique hotel exhibition of the same name. The original installation – considered a key piece of social commentary on the Israeli-Palestine Conflict – is known for having “the worst view of any hotel in the world”. Singaporeans will experience a piece of the wildly popular attraction without having to leave the city.
Additional exhibition highlights include “Dismaland” installations from Banksy’s 2015 pop-up Bemusement Park, prints of “Flower Thrower”, and the sculpture “Phone Booth.” Other surprises include a section dedicated to Banksy’s activism related to immigrants and a completely immersive “infinity room” addressing politics.
Visitors are also invited to join the spirit of Banksy’s activism by spray painting their own T-shirt with a $2 donation to the M.V. Louise Michel organisation.
The Art of Banksy: Without Limits will open from December 2024, with the exact date to be announced, at 25 Scotts Road Singapore. Tickets will be on sale from Nov 13. Sign up to the waitlist to receive exclusive pre-sale access. Visit artofbanksyapac.com for updates and further information.
