Whether you are going for the races, watching the entertainment or just soaking in the electrifying atmosphere, you need to be prepared in order to enjoy the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2024 to the fullest. Here are our top 10 tips to survive the three-day event.

1. Take public transport. Considering the jams in and around the city centre, this is a no brainer. Leave the car behind, and take the bus or MRT. In anticipation of the crowds, transport operators have ramped up the frequency of services and extended the operating hours.

2. Check your ticket. This writer once bought a ticket to the wrong day, and was promptly turned away. It was an expensive and heartbreaking lesson. Note the date(s) on your ticket and go to the gate indicated for entry.

3. Go early. It gives you time to roam around and soak in the sights, sounds and (rubber-burning) smells. If you are there for the entertainment, you get to chope your spot in front of the stage.

4. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. There will be a fair bit of walking so comfortable clothes and a good pair of sneakers are highly recommended.

5. Bring a poncho. People still talk about the heavy rain that lashed the event two years ago – and the muddy mess it caused. Don’t get caught up in the weather. You might also want to consider wearing clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty in. Let’s just hope Sumatra squalls won’t happen during the three days.

6. Fully charge your devices. There’s nothing more annoying than running out of battery for your devices. Luckily, the organiser has offered a power bank rental service so that you can stay powered up throughout the day. Power bank rental stations are located near selected Information Booths across the Circuit Park.

7. Know what not to bring. Bag checks will be conducted at the gates. Pack light for a speedy clearance during the security screening. There is a long list of prohibited items, including vapes, selfie sticks and laser pointers.

8. Stay fueled up. As with previous years, there will be a wide range of food and drink options. Just remember to stay hydrated in our hot and humid weather. If you bring your own reusable water bottle, fill it up at the complimentary water points in the Circuit Park

9. Download the official Singapore GP event app. Not only is it a handy and convenient tool to get the latest event updates, you can also plan your itinerary and try on merchandise with the Augmented Reality filter.

10. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Have fun, be kind, and go with the flow.
