Movies have always been a good form of escapism. Some of the coolest flicks available this month include Dune, The Green Knight and No Time To Die.
Dune
Based on the iconic 1965 Frank Herbert novel of the same name, Dune is part one of a planned, two-part sci-fi epic that sees a young boy, Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet), called into a great destiny. As the heir to a throne on his planet Caladan, Paul and his family travel to the desert planet Arrakis to rule despite knowing the new opportunity is a death trap. As betrayals unravel and the Atreides empire crumbles, it is up to Paul to find the natives of Arrakis in order to navigate his fate and future. The gripping flick boasts major Star Wars and Game of Thrones vibes, as alumni like Jason Momoa and Oscar Issac star in the show. In theatres Sep 16
The Green Knight
A rather unique adaptation, The Green Knight tells the story of King Arthur’s nephew, who embarks on a journey to prove his courage and bravery to a court. Risking his life, he seeks out the Green Knight, a mysterious giant who resides at Camelot. Directed by David Lowery, the movie has been praised for its cinematography as well as its main star, Dev Patel’s performance. In theatres Sep 23
No Time To Die
If you’ve thoroughly enjoyed Daniel Craig as James Bond, then you’ll want to catch him in his final act as former MI6 agent 007. In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service, but returns (duh) to confront a nasty villain with a grand scheme.
