Stills from Grid Synergy’s teaser film

A local action comedy feature film

The guys from Grid Synergy have set out to produce our island’s first full length action comedy film. The brain child of award-winning director Gilbert Chan (whose previous films include 23:59 and Ghost Child) and seasoned local actor Vincent Tee, I’mpossible tells the story of a teenage boy discovering his talent in martial arts and going from an underdog to a martial arts champ. Of course, producing a film from scratch is no walk in the park. They’ve just launched a kickstarter campaign and are aiming for US$50,000 ($67,705). Click here to support—it’s about time we got a kickass action film. Need more convincing? Check out their short teaser film.

My Singapore Food

A site for our favorite local recipes

My Singapore Food (MSF) is a project by Karen Nah that aims to compile 50 family recipes of our favorite local dishes and turning them into easy-to-follow, tutorial style videos that will be available on the MSF site. Contributed by Singaporeans ranging from stay home moms to well-known chefs, they will also be adapted into cook books. In order for that to happen, their goal is to raise $30,000. Go here to support their cause. Bonus: if you pledge $100 or more, you’ll get a customized gula melaka mousse cake created by Chef Judy Koh of Creative Culinaire. Pledge above $10,000 and you’ll get to sit down for a private dinner with the famous Chef Eric Teo.
