Mystery on the Train Tracks
According to The Straits Times, a man in his seventies was believed to have scaled a railing at the Expo train station platform last Saturday, before walking around 1km along the tracks. Our men in blue are still uncertain as to whether or not he got hit by an oncoming train, but as he was found with injuries to his head and multiple cuts to his body, we can’t imagine what else could have happened to him.
Holy Brawl
It seems like some old folks are on the rampage lately. Lim Song Chong, a 79-year-old church caretaker, was charged for starting a brawl with his girlfriend’s 65-year-old landlord, Cheong Yee Mun, inside Glad Tidings Church. Suspecting that his girlfriend was having an affair, the “frail” old man threw a 20cm-long knife, an umbrella, a pocket knife and a pair of kitchen scissors at the more robust Cheong, and thankfully missed his target on all counts. Cheong hurled a fire extinguisher in retaliation, but also failed to do any damage. The police arrived to separate the two errant seniors, and Lim was fined and jailed for a day, Today Online reported.
No Pride
21-year-old Stephanie Koh, a finalist of a Korean reality show who infamously announced that she’s “not proud to be Singaporean”, was accused of attacking her aunt, 33-year-old Nicole Chong, on the first day of Chinese New Year. Koh allegedly pulled Chong’s hair and pushed the latter to the floor, prompting the older woman to file a police report, The Straits Times reported. Koh denies these allegations.
Up in Flames
Mr Caleb Rozario, 23, is undergoing police investigations for blowing up Marina Bay Sands…in an animated video clip. He claims that he created the clip for a special effects school assignment, but netizens are none too pleased, according to The Online Citizen. We think it’s just another incident that’s being blown out of proportion (pun intended).
