In this solo show, local artist Pheng Guan Lee reflects on the relationship between life and art-making. The installation, which includes sculptures made of sand, concrete and recorded performance, explores physical accumulation, time and weight as embodiments of everyday struggles and realities.
A Social Portrait of Singapore: The Critical Years
One of the pioneers of the local photography scene, revered artist-photographer Loke Hong Seng captures intimate moments of ’60s and ’80s Singapore through the 20 works on show here. From everyday scenes to the building of HDB flats to picturesque landscapes, his keen eye on his subjects is both emphathetic and nostalgic.
