Risking their own well-being everyday to be on the frontlines in the battle against Covid-19 are our brave healthcare workers. These self-sacrificing individuals work dutifully, clocking in more than their usual hours since the virus outbreak so as to combat the ongoing threat.
Despite their selflessness, some people have shunned or even ostracised them out of ignorance and unwarranted fear of their proximity to infected patients. But here to display otherwise is creative agency 72andSunny Singapore.
These fine folks are launching a pro bono campaign to show support and appreciation for our healthcare workers, and you can be a part of it too.
Starting Feb 21, a series of pin badges with encouraging messages ranging from “Majulah Medics” to “Nurses are the Nicest” and “Tok Kong Doctors” will be made available freely at several locations in town. On these pins are also images of facemasks turned into heart-shaped icons. Cute.
So far, establishments like Lucha Loco and Kilo Kitchen at Duxton, Nana & Bird at Tiong Bahru, and Plain Vanilla Bakery at Telok Ayer are taking part. You can simply head to these places and collect a pin, while stocks last (so don’t be a hoarder and take more than you need).
If you’re unable to get a physical pin, digital stickers and gifs are also being made available via a Facebook page named Majulah Medics. You can even use the templates there to change your profile image and show your support that way.
So if you know a doctor, nurse, ambulance driver, medic or anyone else fighting the good fight, do them a solid and show how much you appreciate their heroic deeds. There’s no better time than now.
