After two years of restrictions and disconnect with the world, we’re finally seeing a semblance of normality as measures continue getting lifted around the world. With that, we’re also finally able to properly enjoy and celebrate the pleasures of gourmet offerings.
This year, as they gear up for their annual Guide, Michelin has proudly announced the star selection that will grace the Star Revelation and Gala Dinner event of the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2022, bringing back to Singapore some of our own chefs that have been based overseas.
Most of them returning home for the first time since the pandemic halted travel between countries, the event timely reunites us as we showcase the unique multicultural facets of our city.
Taking the theme of Singapore Celebrated, the event at our iconic Marina Bay Sands will see four talented Singaporean chefs based in Michelin-starred restaurants from around the world, join two international chefs based in Singapore to present a magnificent star-studded six-course dinner.
On the list are Singaporean chefs Matthew Leong of 2-star RE-NAA in Norway, Jimmy Lim of 2-star JL Studio in Taichung, Barry Quek of 1-star Whey in Hong Kong, and Angela Lai of 2-star Taïrroir in Taipei.
Joining them are Tristin Farmer of Singapore’s 3-star Zén and Tetsuya Wakuda of 2-star Waku Ghin.
Leading up to the event, the MICHELIN Bib Gourmand selection will also be released, listing restaurants that offer “good quality, good value cooking” for excited foodies.
