When it comes to special occasions, we can always trust on Swensen’s to offer a special ice cream treat, and it’s no different with this year’s upcoming Dragon Boat Festival.
Beloved by generations of Singaporeans, the ice cream chain has become synonymous with comforting sweet-enders and scoops of guilty pleasure. From serving up classic flavours to innovative creations, Swensen’s the go-to for any diner looking for fuss-free desserts in the heartlands.
Riding on the success of their past festival offerings, the brand once again whips up a novel offering just in time for Dragon Boat Festival. The Pulut Hitam Rice Dumpling Ice Cream Cake is essentially pulut hitam ice cream, modelled to look exactly like a beautiful rice dumpling.
On the exterior, it mimics a bamboo leaf-wrapped rice package of the traditional triangular form, sprinkled with gold dust for an elegant touch of luxe. Cutting into it will reveal a purple interior speckled with black glutinous rice bits, and a salted egg chocolate bon bon sitting at its core which deliciously contrasts the rich creaminess of the pulut hitam ice cream with its sweet-savoury notes.
The Pulut Hitam Rice Dumpling Ice Cream Cake is now available for dine-in and takeaway at all Swensen’s and Earle Swensen’s.
