Despite Singapore’s tropical climate, our water parks remain rather underrated, and often overshadowed by other theme parks and tourist attractions. But make no mistake—our country actually offers some of the best water parks around. From the childhood favourite Wild Wild Wet to the cool HydroDash playground at Sentosa, here are six awesome water parks to check out.
Adventure Cove Waterpark
For thrilling rides and fascinating encounters with marine life, one only needs to head down to the popular Adventure Cove Waterpark at Resorts World Sentosa. From speeding down the Duel Racer with your bestie to meeting Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins at Dolphin Island (still open), there’s more than plenty to check out at this all-in-one water-themed attraction.
Coastal PlayGrove
The former Big Splash site is now Coastal PlayGrove, the latest family-friendly destination at East Coast Park. It boasts Singapore’s tallest outdoor play feature, a colourful 16m-high Play Tower that houses a net play area and rope-based obstacles called the Vertical Challenge, and two tube slides on the third and fourth floors. There’s also the Water Play Area for kids to beat the heat, featuring wading pools jazzed up with water jets that become illuminated at night.
HydroDash
Considered Singapore’s first floating aqua park, HydroDash (located on Sentosa island) began welcoming visitors to leap, bounce and slide through the park in late 2020. Round up the crew and challenge them to the floating obstacle course; the whimsical inflatable playground is family-friendly and will easily delight folks of all ages.
Singapore Wake Park
An amusement park suitable for both adults and children, discover some of the most adrenaline-inducing water sports at Singapore Wake Park. As the country’s only cable-ski park built in a lagoon at East Coast Park, feel free to explore park features such as wakeboarding, obstacle course, and day and night cable-skiing. Not for the faint-of-heart, private charter sessions are also available for groups of thrill seekers.
Splash-N-Surf
An outdoor water play area for all, Singapore Sports Hub’s Splash-N-Surf comprises three main attractions, including the Kids Water Playground, Lazy River and Stingray. While the Lazy River is temporarily closed, locals will still be able to enjoy wave riding at the Stingray, a half-pipe surfing facility fabulous for bodyboarding and skimboarding. Have a go at this exhilarating surf experience; just remember to bring appropriate swimwear and rash guard for your own safety.
Wild Wild Wet @ Downtown East
A name familiar with most locals, Wild Wild Wet is no longer that outdated theme park most kids outgrow after the age of 12. Having been expanded in 2017, the water park now boasts new rides such as the Royal Flush, Asia’s first hybrid ride, as well as the Kraken Racers, Singapore’s first four-lane mat racer slide. Still not exciting enough? Then try the Torpedo or Free Fall for some mind-blowing action; you’ll be seeing the park in a whole new light after experiencing those rides.
Rainforest Kidzworld (Singapore Zoo)
Get ready to be swept away by a sea of fun at the Singapore Zoo! This watery paradise offers an array of exciting attractions including slides, tubes, sprayers and climbers. But watch out for our giant water bucket- it could be raining down on you in the blink of an eye! It’s sure to be one splashtacular summer adventure at Rainforest Kidzworld!
