Cardi B cancels Singapore F1 showing as Gwen Stefani takes over

Showing us all how major changes to a music concert should be handled (unlike a recent EDM festival held here) are the guys behind the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2019.

When they made known in March that Cardi B will be making her Singapore debut come Sep 21 as part of the Singapore Grand Prix this year, we were all stoked for some unapologetic rap action finally coming to our shores. Well, it seems like we all have to wait just a little longer, as the Grammy Award-winner won’t be making her way here after all “due a major rescheduling of her September and October tour”, states an official release.

Instead, taking over Cardi B’s scheduled slot on Saturday, Sep 21 is three-time Grammy Award-winner Gwen Stefani. She was last seen on stage in Singapore performing to a sold-out crowd at the Singapore Indoor Stadium as part of her The Sweet Escape tour in 2007. More than a decade on, she’s all set to wow us again by performing fan-favourites on the Padang Stage.

Other major acts gracing our shores for the Singapore F1 concerts include Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and even Hans Zimmer.

Tickets for Gwen Stefani’s concert and the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2019 (Sep 20-22) start from $188 for a single-day Saturday ticket and $278 for a three-day ticket.
