We made like Will and Kate and swung by Raffles Hotel’s Presidential Suite (the royal couple spent the night here during their stay in Singapore) for scones and Champagne with British Theater Playhouse (BTP) as they talked about their upcoming play The Mousetrap, the Agatha Christie whodunit. Part of the talking was done by BTP director John Faulkner, who then delivered a monologue in character as a self-effacing Italian gent. Turns out he was in the 32nd year of the London production of the show. With an ensemble of suspects ranging from straitlaced matron to a mysterious army major to proto-queer characters, the play definitely looks like a whole lot of fun. Keep your eyes peeled—show’s coming to town in October.
