The iconic Bottle Tree Park shut its doors last August and now, after a change of management and some $8 million later, it has re-opened as Orto, a free access public park with lots of dining options and sporting activities.
The vibe isn’t too much of a departure from the former Bottle Tree Park, offering the same laid-back, kampong style feel. Located an eight-minute walk from Khatib MRT, the park is massive; think seven football fields put together and there are also three event spaces, all overlooking the lake with each being able to hold at least 200 people. The park is open round the clock, seven days a week. There’s free parking, too.
On the food front are seafood and local food outlets like Chinese seafood restaurant Long Jiang Chinos and halal restaurant Taste Garden. There are also 24-hour prawning and fishing spots and activities like paintball, futsal and allegedly Singapore’s biggest trampoline park.
Parts of the park have been opened since December and all of its tenants are expected to be fully open by April. Head here for more info.
