Clarke Quay commissions new mural art

Street art gets further legitimized in this city. Lifestyle hub Clarke Quay, in collaboration with non-profit social enterprise Social Creatives, has endorsed emerging mural artist Kala Roseane to paint the facade of Whampoa Ice House, located adjacent to the G-MAX Reverse Bungy Kiosk. Roseane will work her magic this Sunday (July 28) through Tuesday (Aug 6) between 11am-7pm daily to add color to the building with her signature illustrations, but with a twist. “The artwork is a funky depiction of almost forgotten stories while giving a vibrant spin to communal street art,” says Social Creatives’ Chief Executive Faris Basharahil. “Mural painting is actually the first form of art originating from cave-drawings. There are many stories in the artwork such as Andrew Clarke and Vanda Joaquim. Indeed, the colours further promote our ART in e”ART”h objectives where art becomes a powerful force that binds people and stories together.”
