It seems furniture retailer Courts is done living in the shadows and being known only for their consumer electronics. The Singapore-based store has redesigned its flagship Megastore in Tampines to create a brand new immersive store experience that will hopefully change local impressions of the brand.
Opening officially on Nov 11, the new Megastore’s main focus is on accommodating the needs of Singapore homeowners and modern, small-sized apartment living. Look forward to new furniture collections scaled in smarter, more compact dimensions that fit easily in HDB lifts, yet don’t sacrifice style for practicality. Multi-function pieces like extendable tables, wall desk-beds and more make up a bulk of the collection, which makes shopping for small BTO flats less of a headache.
And if you enjoy the visual merchandising aspect of a particular furniture giant located right next door, you’ll be pleased to find it at the new and improved Megastore. A fully furnished design studio lets shoppers walk through and visualize a smart home-enabled, four-room HDB flat. Temporary home galleries also feature the latest furniture settings and are refreshed regularly for your home deco inspo. If you like what you see but want to give it a unique personal touch, a customization wall lets you create bespoke made-to-order items, deliverable in three to six weeks.
The experiential shopping concept runs throughout the entire store. On Level 3, shoppers can try out the latest PC, console and augmented reality games in the gaming zone, which is also set to host public gaming tournaments in the future. The highlight, however, has to be the Samsung Open House 2.0, which lets you trial an interactive smart home furnished entirely with Samsung appliances that you can control on a single device.
Once you’ve browsed yourself silly, stop by the in-store cafe run by local coffee label MO Café, which offers a free cup of single-origin artisanal coffee with every furniture consult. The store opens officially on Saturday, and will kick off a four-week long celebration with discounts of up to 90%. Courts Singapore has always been known to be a little pricier than some of its rivals, so the opening sales might be worth a trip down to Tampines.
