Cycling may become the new norm for residents in Punggol

Cyclists in Punggol, rejoice! You now have a more seamless way to ride around the neighborhood thanks to the new 8.8km cycling network that’s just been opened to public, meaning it’ll be easier for you to get to nearby places like the gorgeous Waterway Point, SAFRA Punggol, MRT and LRT stations, and more. It also links to the Punggol Park Connector Network, making it easier to reach Sengkang.

Punggol joins a list of six other existing cycling towns which include neighborhoods like Sembawang, Tampines, Taman Jurong and others. This cycling network stretches from Punggol East to Punggol Way, and will later connect to the 150km Round Island Route. According to the Straits Times, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has increased the number of bicycle parking spots at the Punggol MRT station to more than 300. They’re also looking to install new bicycle racks at LRT stations.

And if you don’t have wheels of your own, read on for where to purchase a stylish bike here.
