Donate your food pics to #GrabFoodBank to lend restaurant owners a hand

Calling all Instagram fiends and #foodporn addicts—you can now put your gazillion food images stored in your photo album to good use thanks to a new social initiative started by none other than our go-to delivery platform GrabFood.

It’s called #GrabFoodBank, and it’s started as a means to help F&B merchants while giving you more reason (not that you needed one) to take amazing food pics at the same time.

It has been found that vendors on GrabFood with photos on their menu are twice as likely to get orders, yet many of them, even as they digitalise their business, still struggle with finding quality pictures for their menus. That’s where you come in.

Here’s how it works. Simply do as you usually do and take great images of the food you’re eating. Post the image on Instagram and plonk in the hashtag #GrabFoodBank. This indicates that you’re giving the vendor permission to use your photo. Then tag them as well so that they are made aware of the pic you’ve posted. It’s that easy.

Currently, the initiative is being piloted with just a few small F&B businesses, as listed below.

So if you’re interested in lending them a visual aid, just order from these guys and snap some drool-worthy photos you think will be great for them to use.

And as a tiny incentive, Grab is giving three lucky persons every month $30 worth of GrabFood vouchers each. Simply tag them @GrabFoodSG along with your #GrabFoodBank post to qualify. Winners will be contacted via DMs.

The next time you’re posting a food pic on Instagram, why not bank it while you’re at it.
