Making the trek out to Changi has always been all about the family-friendly resorts and no-frills chalets that occupy the area. Come 2023, take your grown-up slumber up a notch with the first resort in Southeast Asia that will use reconstructed buses as guest rooms.
Tentatively named “The Bus Resort”, the new sustainability-focused resort will reside next to Changi Village’s famed hawker centre. Spanning across a whopping 8,600sqm of land, the project from WTS Travel and their partners is part of a scheme to revitalise tourism in Changi Village.
Slated for launch in the second quarter of 2023, The Bus Resort will set up home within Changi Village’s vibrant ecosystem of F&B, retail stores, and attractions such as the Changi East Boardwalk, Changi Chapel & Museum, and the Smith Marine floating kelong.
Each of the 20 guest rooms will offer about 28sqm of space and a private outdoor area that can be used for barbecues. The bus-turned-rooms are all fully outfitted with air-conditioning, bathtubs, bamboo blinds for privacy, flat-screen TVs, and plush beddings.
The resort also boasts an Events and Experiences Centre, where you’ll get to participate in activities such as Pilates, yoga, and many other wellness-focused experiences – or whatever you may find yourself in the mood for!
