John Clang Wins Designer of The Year for President’s Design Award 2010

Renowned fashion photographer and art director John Clang is one of the recipients for this year’s Designer of The Year category for 2010’s President Design Award. 
Acclaimed internationally for his commercial work, Clang’s client list includes names such as Godiva, Hermès, IBM, Levi‟s, Nike and Timberland.  is also celebrated for his art: he has held solo exhibitions in Singapore, Los Angeles, New York and Paris.
Joining Clang on the winner’s podium is architect Kerry Hill of Kerry Hill Associates whose notable projects include The Datai Hotel in Langkawi, Malaysia, which won the prestigious International Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2001; and The Lalu Hotel at Sun Moon Lake in Nantou, Taiwan, which clinched the FIABCI Prix d‟Excellence Winners Award in 2004.
The President’s Design Award is Singapore’s most prestigious award for its designers and designs from all disciplines who are pushing the boundaries of Singapore design, tangibly making a difference to the lives of Singaporeans and larger global community.
Winners for The Design of the Year category includes creative shop Asylum for their interior design for Bartle Bogle Hegarty Shanghai’s office, furniture design outfit Outofstock for their Black Forest Table and Objects around the Tablescape by NUS’ d.lab.
