Singapore has made the global headlines quite a few times recently thanks to the likes of Joseph Schooling and Nathan Hartono, but the last few weeks have been particularly good for the Lion City.
In news that has become something of an annual tradition, our one-and-only Changi Airport claimed the title of the world’s best airport once again. This is the fifth consecutive year that the honor has been accorded to Changi.
We also did really well in the 19th Quality of Living survey conducted by international consulting firm Mercer. Out of 231 cities, Singapore topped the list for the best place to live in Asia (ranking 25th worldwide) and was also voted the city with the best infrastructure. The survey looks at political stability, healthcare conditions, transportation, and access to electricity and water.
Almost a month ago, three Singapore restaurants made the top ten of the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. The bright light for Singapore was Restaurant Andre, which came in at #2, up one spot from #3 last year. The other exciting newcomer on the list was last year’s hottest opening, Odette at the National Gallery, which came in at a very admirable #9.
