After much speculation, Monocle, tome of all that is overpriced and achingly desirable, has finally opened its Singapore store and bureau in Holland Village.
This means we’re officially as cool as Hong Kong and Japan, which have Monocle stores of their own. They’ve gone for a rather unexpected location in Chip Bee Gardens (not Tiong Bahru, then) and stock a range of Monocle issues and products for purchase. There are also plans to kick start editorial operations in Singapore.
This all comes after a pop-up store at BooksActually back in 2013 and a recent visit to Singapore by founder Tyler Brule for the launch of his book The Monocle Guide to Good Business.
Check out the new Monocle shop at 74 Jalan Kelabu Asap. We expect a long line of bearded, bespectacled hipsters.
