This new app wants to give you discounted coffees for one fixed monthly price

If you thought fitness passes were onto something with their fixed monthly subscription fee and their access to gyms around the city, well, there’s now something similar for Singapore’s independent cafes, a new app aptly called Coffee Break.

How it works: choose from four types of prepaid plans. They range from a $20.50 basic plan, which gets you five cups of coffee and is valid for 30 days, to the master plan at $75, which offers 20 cups over 90 days and works out to $3.75 per cup. There’s also the unlimited plan for $90, which is only valid for a week, but lets you get a cup of coffee every two and a half hours. Once you get a plan, the app uses GPS to show you all the partner cafes in your area, so it’s a great way to explore new haunts, too. They’re still building their partnerships, but so far we spied some familiar names like Tolido’s Espresso Nook on Crawford Lane and Drips in Tiong Bahru. There’s also JAB Coffee and Three Cups Coffee Co. around Raffles Place and Guac & Co and Well-Dressed Salad Bar around Chinatown.

Need more reason to give it a try? They’re pledging 1% of proceeds to charity (though they haven’t yet published a list of charities they support on their site).
