A new French museum opens in Singapore

Paris’ largest private art museum Pinacotheque de Paris will be opening its first outpost outside of Europe, in Singapore. Slated for a May 30 opening, the museum will be housed in the newly-revamped Fort Canning Arts Centre and show works by art legends including Vincent van Gogh, Oscar-Claude Monet and Jackson Pollock.

Founded by art historian Marc Restellini, the space will have three galleries with both permanent exhibitions showing rare art pieces and a rotating gallery showing classic and contemporary art. There’s also the Heritage Gallery that pays homages to the historic Fort Canning grounds and is a retrospective on Singapore’s culture through the centuries.

On top of that, the space will also house a couple of F&B concepts, including Maison Ikkoku’s new cocktail-pairing restaurant, Fort.

The largest gallery, The Features, will debut with an exhibition on The Myth of Cleopatra. It’ll be on show until Oct 11. Tickets start at $11 and go up to $28. Head to their website for more info.
