Singapore GOURMETbus, a new service that lets you soak in the views of the city while you dine on board, is the brainchild of tour operator Big Bus Singapore City Sightseeing, best known for its amphibious DUCKtours rides here.
Launched last month, the 34-seater luxury coach, with kitschy, neon-lit interiors resembling that of a limousine, offers both lunch and dinner menus by restaurant partners Soup Restaurant and IndoChine respectively. There is no kitchen on the bus—instead, the food is kept heated heated by a food warmer. You can expect dishes such as Samsui Ginger Chicken and dim sum for lunch, and Vietnamese and Laotian fare for dinner. The bus takes diners through attractions in the city center, such as the Singapore Flyer, National Gallery Singapore, Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion Park.
Tours operate from Mon-Sat, from 1-3pm for lunch ($57 per person) and 7:30-9:30pm for dinner ($97 per person), with a 20 percent discount on lunch and dinner for reservations through May.
