Our food delivery woes are finally being answered. Sure, it’s great having go-tos like Foodpanda and Deliveroo to answer the call of a midnight craving, but when you’re stuck in a neighborhood as far-flung as, say, Jurong, having a limited 15 options that don’t include the nation’s best supper stops can be quite painful.
Enter Porterfetch, a homegrown delivery startup that’s challenging the big boys and stepping in for a slice of the market by bringing local supper favorites to customers anywhere on the island. The selection is small but growing, but more importantly, Porterfetch’s focus is on delivering Singapore’s best to anyone craving it. On the list at the moment are Swee Choon Dim Sum, Ponggol Nasi Lemak, Al-Azhar Eating Restaurant, Beach Road Scissor Cut Curry Rice, and even Rochor Beancurd House.
It’s a ground-breaking move for anyone on the further ends of Singapore, seeing as how being limited to just the stores in one’s immediate vicinity is now a first-world thing of the past. For a distance-based delivery fee starting at $5 (no minimum order), Porterfetch runs from 9pm-3am nightly, and is currently optimized for desktop here, with a mobile app in the works. Looks like September is already shaping up to be a great month, especially with the new season of Narcos to binge-watch.
