There are a few long weekends coming up, so you may want to check out the new Hotel Clover 33 Jalan Sultan, the boutique hotel chain’s latest property in Kampong Glam, for your next (culturally themed) staycation. Through Oct 31, there will be a SG50 Room Package that comprises a hands-on Flavors of Singapore cooking class in the home kitchen of Ruqxana Vasanwala from Cookery Magic. Plus you can hit up the bars and brunch spots around Kampong Glam or visit the many mom n’ pop stores nearby. Usual room rates start at $190 a night, and the SG50 Room Package is priced starting at $570 for two nights for two guests.
Keeping with the hotel’s other properties, this one is all about dark wood furniture, French doors, leafy surrounds, handicrafty touches…and free WiFi. There’s a hotel restaurant, but you’ll probably be wanting to tromp up and down Haji Lane.
