Two weeks ago, Netflix announced its arrival, and that we could all sign up here. Now, two major Singapore telcos have jumped on the bandwagon with subscription packages.
Starhub is offering its Fibre TV subscribers access using their set-top boxes, and this will be available early in the second quarter of 2016. The cost of Netflix will be highlighted in the Starhub bill (although the price and more info will be revealed at a later date). Singtel, on the other hand, will make its subcription available on Jan 22. After getting three or six months of Netflix for free, subscribers will pay from $13.98 per month, depending on how many devices are connected to the set-up box. But this comes with a caveat of signing a two-year mobile or television and fibre broadband contract.
However, there’s the question of whether the service is worth signing up for, as Netflix will feature a curated selection here. It’s a bit early to say, but here’s hoping more shows will come in time.
But if you’d still like to subcribe to Netflix, you can head over here. The first month is free, so that’s pretty tempting.
