This defunct railway station is now open to the public

We all shed a tear when the charming Tanjong Pagar railway station closed its doors in 2011. Four years on, it is now going to be opened to the public once again. Only on public holidays, but still. And, it wouldn’t stay open throughout the CNY weekend either; it will only be opened on Feb 20, from 9am to 6pm.

Over the last few years, the venue has played host to events ranging from carnivals and pop-up restaurants to product launches and even fashion shows. It’s not hard to see why this place remains such a hit, with its gorgeous neoclassical designs, high ceiling and platforms that are dripping with history.

Keep an eye out for the flea market organized by Public Garden happening on Feb 27 from 5pm tp 10pm (not on a public holiday). Expect vendors peddling artsy knick knacks, cards and design books.
