It looks like the 80-year-old Haw Par Villa theme park is getting a lot more exciting—while it’s currently under going a major restoration to spruce up its famous statues, dioramas and landscapes, operator Journeys has said that it also plans to rope in fine dining restaurants and a new museum, on top of pushing for a national monument status for the attraction.
While there is no word yet on which restaurants are opening at the park, the operator has unveiled some details about the new museum. Dubbed the Rise of Asia Museum, it will showcase artifacts, photographs and multimedia installations which feature the stories of successful Asian family businesses like Tiger Balm, Tata and Samsung.
The jury’s still out on whether this will finally inject a much-need lease of life to the park, but we are crossing our fingers.
