You might remember that Dempsey was last buzzing with urban garden-slash-bistro outfit Open Farm Community. Now, shaking up this sleepy nook off Tanglin is a new enclave with a variety of lifestyle and education venues.
Loewen by Dempsey Hill features a total of 13 tenants ranging from artisan chocolatier Anjali Chocolat, which offers chocolate making classes; The Wagington Luxury Pet Hotel, Trimmings & Spa, for hair and beauty services; designer furniture boutique Mobel Story, art studio and gallery Billkey Art, art school Impressions Art Studios, and gymnastics and yoga studio Alpha Gymnastics.
While the place—which has a number of kid-friendly enrichment centers—might not be the trendiest opening in town, there’s plenty to do, including an in-house designed walking trail map by the Loewen folks. The Dempsey Walking Trails is a self-guided tour comprising walks like the Nature Heritage Trail (nature and history), the Epicurean Trail (dining) and the City Dweller’s Trail (art, home furnishings, retail and beauty).
