Punggol will soon get an elaborate bicycle network

Punggol has been heating up for nearly a year now, with cool new cafes, then an announcement that the HDB is putting up fancy and affordable new “smart homes”. Now, according to a report on The Straits Times, Punggol will get its own 8.8km bicycle network by 2017. Construction work is already under way.

Convenient off-road cycling routes will connect  homes to train stations, schools and other amenties within the area. Don’t worry if you still prefer to walk, as these paths also feature a pedestrian-only space. This intra-town bicycle network will join a list of six other existing ones in neighborhoods like Changi-Simei, Yishun, Pasir Ris, Sembawang, Taman Jurong and Tampines.
