SG50 so far has been all about free concerts, events and activities. But don’t forget that public transport services like buses and trains are also offering free rides to all on Aug 9.
That said, there’s supposed to be a surge in passengers, meaning things will be a bit of a squeeze. More frequent trains on the North-South and East-West lines (every three minutes instead of the usual four or five) should help a bit, though.
What’s more, hang around bus interchanges like Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Sembawang, Woodlands and Yishun, and MRT stations Ang Mo Kio, Jurong East, Orchard, Stadium and Tampines from noon to 2pm, and Bayfront, City Hall, Esplanade, Raffles Place and Promenade stations from 3-5pm, and you might receive free limited-edition SG50 badges and EZ-link card stickers.
In case you aren’t loaded up enough already on commemorative souvenirs.
