Fans, or those curious about the controversial graphic novel The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye have until Mar 24 to catch the exhibition showcasing work from the title at Mulan Gallery.
In case you haven’t been following, the graphic novel’s creator Sonny Liew had an $8,000 grant withdrawn by the National Arts Council as The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye allegedly “undermines the authority of the Government”. About 90 original comic pages and paintings are being exhibited, with 8 pieces currently on sale. About 32 of his work have been sold, with price points ranging from $250-1,400.
